SeasonPreview: Your guide to the arts in 2025

With performances from internationally acclaimed artists including baritone Matthias Goerne, the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra and singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright, Melbourne Recital Centre’s 2025 season is a seriously diverse one.

The Classical Highlights:

The 2025 season is anchored by two Signature Events. The first, in March, brings Germany’s revered Freiburg Baroque Orchestra to the MRC stage in a concert featuring pianist Kristian Bezuidenhout and soprano Siobhan Stagg. Together, they will transport audiences through the rich musical landscapes of the Baroque and Classical eras, exploring works by Bach, Mozart and more.

October sees the return of England’s revered vocalists The Tallis Scholars, the ensemble famously described as “The rock stars of Renaissance vocal music” by The New York Times. Having built and maintained a global reputation as the leading exponents of Renaissance church music over the past 50 years, there’s no-one better than the Scholars when it comes to bringing centuries of sacred music alive for modern audiences.
