Australian Brandenburg Orchestra: Bach’s Orchestral Suites
6 April @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm AEDT

JS Bach’s four orchestral suites are rarely played together in a single concert, but Artistic Director Paul Dyer has curated just such a program, promising the grandest performance of the season. Each suite begins with a French overture in the style of Lully, followed by a variety of dances – among them the bourrée, gavotte, polonaise and sarabande – and other musical forms including an Air in the third, better known as the Air on the G String thanks to August Wilhelmj’s transposition in 1871.
