Blackheath Chamber Music Festival: Blowing to the Wind

27 April @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm AEST

Now in its fifth year, the BCMF has fast become one of this country’s premier events, attracting music buffs to the idyllic Blue Mountains village. The three-day program includes a Baroque recital by American countertenor Reginald Mobley (see page 44) with Bach Akademie Australia; a program of duets pairing musicians from Australia’s leading orchestras; Diana Doherty playing Lachlan Skipworth’s Oboe Quartet and Ross Edwards’ Bird Spirit Dreaming; and a gala performance of Compassion by Lior and Nigel Westlake, both of whom will appear in conversation beforehand.

Limelight Editor’s Choice

An unusual and brilliant bespoke Festival Quartet featuring Eliza Shephard, Lloyd Van’t Hoff, Matthew Wilkie & Michael Duke.

And we’re also proud to present a World Premiere composition by Stephen Adams, written for Eliza Shephard, to be accompanied by the Festival Wind Soloists and the world premiere of John Shephard’s arrangement of Wagambirra, for these instruments.
