New Theatre: Dangerous Liaisons

29 June @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm AEST

Event Series (See All)

“These events have shown us how much misery can be caused from a single dangerous intimacy.”

For decades, the sharp-tongued Marquise de Merteuil and rakish Vicomte de Valmont have delighted in emotional manipulation and psychological warfare, with seemingly no regard for those who get swept up in their games.

However, their recent simple wager that the Vicomte can seduce an innocent young woman goes tragically wrong when he breaks the rules and the Marquise changes the game entirely.

With real feelings emerging out of their struggle for power, who shall have the final victory?

Love and Revenge. Our favourites.

Forget the film versions. Forget Christopher Hampton’s play. This adaptation by Sydney playwright Deborah Mulhall goes back to Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’s original novel and is full of surprises.
