Festival of Voices: Fool For You: Songs of Love and Heartbreak
4 July @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm AEST

This year, the Festival of Voices celebrates its 20th anniversary with what it calls its “biggest program yet”: as its centrepiece, Verdi’s Requiem will see its first Tasmanian performance in 40 years under the baton of UK conductor David Lawrence. Other festival highlights include ensembles The Australian Voices, Germany’s Sjaella, The Hong Kong Children’s Choir and New Zealand’s Luminata Voices, and the free, family-friendly festival mainstay, The Big Sing.
Limelight Editor’s Choice
Fool For You was the first single released by Monique Brumby in 1996. It was nominated for three ARIA Music Awards and won Best New Talent. Produced by the celebrated David Bridie (Not Drowning, Waving and My Friend the Chocolate Cake), the song marked the beginning of an incredible creative partnership. Nearly 30 years later, Monique and David are celebrating their first collaboration through Fool For You: Songs of Love & Heartbreak, where they’ll not only perform some of their most iconic duets but also reflect on their musical journeys through the stories behind their songs of love, heartbreak, and creative collaboration.
