Beginning with Antonín Dvořák’s Bagatelles, arranged by Trish Dean for septet, which transforms the composer’s folk-inspired miniatures into a vibrant ensemble showcase. Ernő Dohnányi’s Serenade for String Trio follows, blending Hungarian charm with fiery virtuosity and showcasing the combined talents of Adam Chalabi, Christopher Moore and Trish Dean.

Ensemble Q are delighted to introduce the world premiere of a new work by Ensemble Q 2025 Composer in Residence, Melody Eötvös, whose imaginative compositions consistently bring a new and exciting voice to Australian chamber music. The program concludes with the Swedish romantic period composer Franz Berwald’s Grand Septet, an exuberant and lyrical gem that needs a much larger place in the masterpiece category of chamber music.
