JONES Theatrical Group: Hadestown
26 April @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm AEDT

Anaïs Mitchell’s contemporary musical theatre retelling of the doomed love story of Orpheus and Eurydice is cleverly combined with another Greek myth – Hades’ abduction of Persephone, the goddess of the seasons. The mesmerising score, which draws on New Orleans jazz, blues, American folk, gospel and railroad songs, is brilliantly performed by a top-notch cast including Noah Mullins as Orpheus, Abigail Adriano as Eurydice, Adrian Tamburini as Hades, Elenoa Rokobaro as Persephone and Christine Anu as the narrator Hermes. The stunning show plays at Melbourne’s Her Majesty’s Theatre from 8 May, following the Sydney season.
