Opera Queensland: Long Lunch
16 April @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm AEST

Once again, Opera Queensland goes on the road to some of the region’s finest outback towns combining opera with ochre sunsets and great pubs! There’s a gala ball for those who like to glam up and a gathering under the night skies during Dark Sky Serenade. Or you can enjoy the camaraderie of a casual pint and a singalong. The creative team is led by conductor Vanessa Scammell and director Patrick Nolan, while the big-ticket events will feature a star turn from legendary coloratura soprano Sumi Jo. There’s also a chance to catch the OQ regional tour, Are You Lonesome Tonight (see above).
Limelight Editor’s Choice
Dine in style with friends and other festival guests at the Winton Long Lunch, celebrating all things outback cuisine.
Our Long Lunch features an exquisite Chef’s menu paired with a selection of fine wines, accompanied by a degustation of songs performed by some of the stars of the festival. As the flavours dance on your palate, the music takes flight. Rich arias and delicious duets make this an afternoon to remember.
We are pleased to be supported by surrounding communities in the delivery of this event, including produce from local farms and students from the Big Red Truck Outback College of Hospitality who will serve your meals.
