Arvo Pärt’s luminous and majestic Te Deum for choir and orchestra is framed by jubilant motets by JS Bach, including Singet dem Herrn. Pärt’s music, even in its minimalism, resonates strongly with the music of Bach despite the centuries that separate them. In this, Pärt’s 90th birthday year, the 40th anniversary of the Te Deum, and the 30th anniversary of the founding of this acclaimed ensemble, Canticum celebrates with these two composers close to its heart.

We are delighted to welcome Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra as our orchestra for the Te Deum. Canticum is pleased to present this concert as part of the 4MBS Festival of Classics.
