Singers of Southern Tasmania: Schubertiade
4 May @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm AEST

Singers of Southern Tasmania presents a celebration of the music of Franz Schubert (1797-1828), who composed over 1500 works in his short career. The concert opens with the Overture in G minor for Piano 4 hands and features well-loved Lieder such as Licht und Liebe, An die Musik, An den Mond, Erlkönig and Der Hirt auf dem Felsen, the second-last composition before his death.
Directed by Jamie Allen, the choir will be joined by soloists Madeleine Dyer, Simon Milton and Kieran Slicer, the Pillinger Quartet and organ for a performance of the Mass No. 2 in G, a shorter Mass composed when Schubert was just 18.
