BLINKING LIGHT: These Youths Be Protesting
17 April @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm AEDT

‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ meets ‘Don’t Look Up’ in this comedy about climate change.
The students of Sunlake Downs High School’s Recycling club hold a cake stall to raise money for one of those cool machines that turns cans and bottles into money. When a local politician donates to their cause, they soon discover they’ve been used as a political greenwashing tactic to distract from the approval of a new coal mine. They bunk-off school and race to Sydney to clear their names but are dragged into a whirlwind of social media chaos and political mud-slinging.
A finalist for the 2024 Martin Lysicrates Prize, this is a comedic coming-of-age story about finding your voice and knowing when to stand up for what is right. If you are interested in new Australian theatre, politics, frog-in-a-ponds, climate change, and the crippling ennui of being a teenager, then this show is for you.
