Dark Mofo: To The Silent Earth, I Flow

Robert Ames, Co-Artistic Director and conductor of the London Contemporary Orchestra, curates this symphony of abstract waterscapes, prefaced by the final stanza of Rainer Maria Rilke’s Let This Darkness Be a Bell Tower: “And if the world has ceased to hear you, / say to the silent earth: I flow. / To the rushing water, speak: I am.” The program includes John Luther Adams’ Become River, Hildur Guðnadóttir’s Opaque, Richard Reed Parry and Bryce Dessner’s Wave Movements, selections from Philip Glass’s Águas da Amazônia, Anna Meredith’s Nautilus and Max Richter’s On the Nature of Daylight.
