Haydn’s influence on Mozart and the string quartet

Guest Presenter Genevieve Lang of ABC Classic and the AHE Quartet uncover the story of the Father of the String Quartet, Haydn’s influence on Mozart and how his Haydn Quartets came to be. Get up close and personal with performance excerpts, revealing Haydn’s transformation of the string quartet from its charming beginnings to the masterpieces that redefined chamber music.
Join like-minded music lovers for a relaxed and informative event in the glorious surrounds of the Friends Room in the State Library of New South Wales. Your $50 ticket includes a welcome refreshment – all are welcome at the cash bar in the Library Bar afterwards.
