Australian Chamber Choir: Agatha in Vivaldi’s Venice
25 May @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm AEST
Agatha, born without the fingers of her left hand, was abandoned to the Venetian orphanage known as the Ospedale della Pietà, where Vivaldi was working to establish an incomparable music education program. In 2022 the ACC premiered Agatha’s Cantata, newly completed after three centuries of silence. In 2024, they will gift the completed work to the citizens of Venice in a special choral/orchestral performance in the Venetian Baroque splendour of the Pisani Palace.
Join the Australian Chamber Choir on this important journey. Hear Agatha’s Cantata in Australia alongside the Magnificat that Vivaldi composed for the orphans of the Pietà, and/or travel with our singers to Europe for 16 days and be their guest at this special concert in Venice.
