Melbourne Symphony Orchestra: American Stories – Bernstein, Gershwin and more

11 April @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm AEST

This performance of musical tales includes Australian composer Joe Chindamo’s unique concerto for trombone, brought to life by Jonathon Ramsay. Favourites from American composers Barber, Bernstein and Gershwin will put a spring in your step with their vivid dance rhythms in full orchestral glory.

Jonathon Ramsay – currently Principal Trombone at the Berlin Philharmonic – performs Joe Chindamo’s Ligeia. Based on the short story by Edgar Allan Poe, Chindamo explores psychological duality in this wildly virtuosic meditation on the macabre.
