The Third Voice’s first full concert since reaching the finals of the Australian Folk Music Awards for best Debut Album 2025. This will also be their last for year. The vocal trio draws together a variety of threads to make a stylistically diverse whole. Dark-folk originals, traditional Afro-cuban songs and carefully curated contemporary covers jostle in each set. Sometimes a cappella, sometimes vocal harmony aided by guitar, accordion, concertina, shruti or looping. This concert will feature songs from their AFMA shortlisted album as well as new material. Clarita Derwent (Son Veneno, Jose Prates Big Band, Sandunga, Caribbean Soul), Gemma Turner (The Transylvaniacs, Strike & String) and solo folk songwriter Christina Mimmocchi met up early in their careers in the well-known a cappella group Blindman’s Holiday. They now pool their talents and the diverse repertoires they love.
