Arioso Chamber Ensemble: Arioso Ten
20 April @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm AEST
Step into the enchanting world of Baroque music as Arioso Chamber Ensemble commemorates a decade of musical brilliance with their 10th anniversary concert series: Arioso Ten.
Judit Molnár (soprano) will perform a selection of beautiful works including the cantata “Rotte L’Aspre Catene” by Italian composer Antonio Caldara, Vivaldi’s “Mentre Dormi”, and Purcell’s moving “Dido’s Lament”. The captivating sounds of Rameau, Marais and Morel will be brought to life in instrumental dances and pieces by Margaret Caley (baroque violin), Shannon Scheltema (viola da gamba) and Janet Brewer (harpsichord).
Arioso Chamber Ensemble brings together the talents and experience of leading specialists in Baroque performance. Formed in January 2014 for the “Music by the Sea” Festival, they have since performed at many festivals and concert series. Their extensive repertoire features well known Baroque favourites as well as lesser-known gems, many of which are included on their recent CD “Pearls”.
