Free-Rain Theatre Company: August: Osage County
14 September @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm AEST
Free-Rain’s production of Tracy Letts’ 2007 Pulitzer Prize-winning play.
Members of the seriously dysfunctional Weston family gather at their family home near Pawhuska, Oklahoma, after the disappearance of the family patriarch Beverly Weston. So do we assume that they are there to comfort and support each other?
Despite any good intensions, over the weeks that follow, they scour and claw at each other, reviving former animosities, reliving past injuries, and unearthing old secrets. They continue to pick at each other so that things become highly tempestuous until eventually family relationships unravel and disintegrate. A tragicomedy that explores the worst things about family life.
Written by Tracy Letts and directed by Cate Clelland.
