Inspired by Australia’s native Banksia plants, Banksia Trio brings together three of Tokyo’s most sought-after players: bassist Takashi Sugawa, pianist Masaki Hayashi, and drummer Shun Ishiwaka. Known for their dynamic sound and sharp improvisation, the trio creates bold and surprising jazz that’s both technically fearless and full of feeling.

Fresh from sharing the stage with Gretchen Parlato and lighting up Blue Note Tokyo in recent performances, Banksia Trio are set for their Australian debut in Melbourne.
