West Australian Symphony Orchestra: Bruch’s Violin Concerto
15 August @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm AWST

Award-winning Dutch violinist Simone Lamsma joins WASO for Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1, originally premiered in 1866 and revised the following year by violinist Joseph Joachim. The program also includes Richard Strauss’s much-revised Macbeth, which marked the beginning of the composer’s groundbreaking series of tone poems. Written between 1886–88, it is performed by WASO for the first time. Closing the program, Asher Fisch conducts Schumann’s Symphony No. 4, conceived during his first year of marriage and intended to portray his wife Clara.
