Cairns Indigenous Art Fair: Cairns Indigenous Art Fair 2025
9 July

The Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) is Queensland’s premier First Nations arts and cultural celebration, held annually on Gimuy Walubara Yidinji Country in Cairns. Since its inception in 2009, CIAF has grown into a nationally significant platform showcasing the diversity, strength, and contemporary expression of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art, fashion, performance, music, and cultural practice.
More than an art fair, CIAF is a movement—championing truth-telling, cultural exchange, capacity building, and economic opportunity for Indigenous artists and communities across Queensland. The event is widely recognised for its ethical art marketplace, artist-led programming, and its ability to nurture emerging voices while elevating established practitioners onto national and international stages.
Attracting collectors, curators, industry leaders, and thousands of visitors each year, CIAF continues to expand Queensland’s creative footprint, strengthen cultural identity, and shape the future of Australia’s First Nations arts sector.
