Freeze Frame Opera: Dead Man Walking
18 September @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm AEST

Freeze Frame Opera has built its reputation on a determination to introduce new audiences to opera and an imaginative approach to site-specific work. Now, the company turns its attention to a contemporary classic with the West Australian premiere of Jake Heggie’s Dead Man Walking. Based on Sister Helen Prejean’s memoir about her time as the spiritual advisor to a death row inmate, the opera will be performed in a new chamber version in the confines of Freemantle Prison, an institution that has previously witnessed the hanging of 43 men and one woman. The cast includes Hattie Marshall and Lachlan Higgins.
