Parrtjima: Drifting Clouds
16 April @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm AEST

Drifting Clouds were conceived in the homelands of Bunhungura, a short drive from Gapuwiyak.
Lead singer, songwriter and keyboardist Terry Guyula has been honing his craft since childhood, first inspired by his uncles’ fellowship band before learning drums and keyboards at school. After graduating, he studied at Abmusic in Perth, where he began singing, writing and developing his own sound.
Guyula’s ethereal music blends synthpop, 80s influences, rock and country with deep connections to Songlines, Dreamtime stories, culture and life in community. Back in Gapuwiyak, he formed an eight-piece family band to bring his originals to life. Travelling together in a packed troopy, they’ve performed at many of the NT’s leading cultural festivals, including Garma, Barunga, Bush Bands Bash and Stone Country.
The band’s name comes from the distinctive patterned clouds that roll in from the east. One of these formations is known as Dhumbarpar — “drifting clouds.”
