Inspire Music Australia: Emerging Artist Concert Series: Orpheus Quintet
4 March @ 1:15 pm - 2:00 pm AEDT

A dynamic young wind ensemble based in Sydney, Orpheus Quintet was formed at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and is quickly gaining recognition for its vibrant performances, musical precision, and collaborative spirit. In 2025, the quintet participated in the Pathways Program at the Australian Festival of Chamber Music and was named the Fellowship Ensemble for AFCM 2026. The group has also taken part in a masterclass with the LA Philharmonic Wind Quintet during its Australian tour and has been mentored by Shefali Pryor and Andrew Barnes.
This Emerging Artist Series concert presents a program spanning continents and generations, featuring music by Valerie Coleman, György Ligeti, Ross Edwards, Carl Nielsen, Karl Pilss, and Astor Piazzolla. Rhythmic energy gives way to moments of stillness, wit meets warmth, and tradition is refreshed through contemporary perspectives, showcasing the expressive range and conversational nature of the wind quintet.
