Adelaide Baroque: Enlightened Quartets, Music from the Age of Enlightenment
26 February @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm ACDT

The early 1700’s saw a new period in the Arts, a time of great change and transformation with incredible advances in composition and performance. The Age of Reason, termed The Age of Enlightenment, promoted ideas such as liberty, progress, and democracy. Our program highlights composers including Mozart, Haydn, and Mendelssohn.
★★★★★” The Adelaide Baroque String Quartet, using historically informed instruments to create a gracious, velvety sound.” Craig Reid, Limelight
“The sell-out events introduced audiences to the intimacies of period instruments and afforded an opportunity to literally hear the development of this now-established composition form, with informative comments by nationally and internationally renowned musicians.” Timothy Roberts, Curator, The David Roche Gallery
