Red Chair: Ensemble Trivium
23 October @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm AEST

Ensemble Trivium is a vibrant collective of leading Brisbane musicians, centred around a core of flute, violin and viola. The ensemble is known for warm, engaging performances that bring together timeless masterworks, contemporary pieces and new commissions, often uncovering forgotten gems that deserve to be heard.
In this special concert series, Debussy’s luminous Sonata for Flute, Viola and Harp opens the evening with a gentle, shimmering soundscape that invites calm, reflection and quiet beauty.
Jean Françaix’s String Trio follows, sparkles with wit, elegance, and irresistible charm.
Contemporary composer Caroline Shaw offers a moment of stillness in Limestone & Felt, where time seems suspended.
The program concludes with Joseph Jongen’s Concert à cinq for flute, string trio and harp, a richly layered work that is virtuosic and warmly expressive.
