Join us for a captivating evening of French Art Song performed by the talented cohort of young singers at Opera Scholars Australia. Experience the beauty and passion of this exquisite repertoire as our rising opera stars showcase their vocal prowess and emotional depth. From the enchanting melodies of Debussy and Faure, to the dramatic storytelling of Ravel, immerse yourself in the artistry and sophistication of French musical tradition.
Art Song emerged in the 19th Century and has been a popular form of musical expression ever since. It is a genre of classical music that is typically composed for solo voice and piano to express poetry through music. Our Scholars have been hard at work interpreting these beautiful texts – getting to the heart of their emotional truth!
Four finalists will each present a short program – celebrated opera singers Peter Coleman-Wright AO and Cheryl Barker AO will adjudicate.
