Woollahra Philharmonic Orchestra: Ineffable

24 March @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm AEDT

Woollahra Philharmonic Orchestra (WPO) is thrilled to present Ineffable, its inaugural concert for 2024, featuring Sydney Symphony Oboist Callum Hogan as soloist alongside conductor Daniel Pini returning from Paris to make his Australian debut.

WPO’s Ineffable presents the World Premiere of Daniel Pini’s orchestration of Fanny Hensel’s (née Mendelssohn) Song for the Piano, Op. 8 No. 1, Richard Strauss’ Concerto in D major for Oboe and Small Orchestra, AV 144, TrV 292, with soloist Callum Hogan, and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 in E♭ major, Op. 55 (Eroica).

The return of Daniel Pini to WPO for his Australian conducting debut is met with excitement, following his remarkable performance of Schumann’s cello concerto with Umberto Clerici in 2018, where he ‘. . . demonstrated great empathy . . . achieved via expertly voiced Schumann-esque utterances from the cello and solid support from the orchestra.’
