J Culture Sydney: JAPAN EXPO 2025

25 October

This year’s event marks a special occasion: the 45th anniversary of the sister city partnership between Nagoya and Sydney, which will be officially celebrated as part of the EXPO.

The Opening Ceremony will feature appearances and addresses by Mr. Ichiro Hirosawa, Mayor of Nagoya, and Ms. Clover Moore, Lord Mayor of Sydney, in a symbolic celebration of international friendship and cultural exchange.

Visitors can look forward to an exciting range of experiences and exclusive benefits, including:
– International Kimono Contest & Parade, showcasing the elegance of traditional dress from around the world
– Hands-on cultural workshops – origami, calligraphy, yukata try-ons, and more
– Live performances direct from Japan, including music, dance, and martial arts displays

The event aims to foster deeper cross-cultural understanding and provide a vibrant, immersive experience for people of all ages.
