Fringe World: Jessie Gordon’s Approximate Folk
15 February @ 8:30 pm - 9:25 pm AWST
Jessie Gordon’s Approximate Folk (JGAF for short) is a seven-piece musical ferris wheel – one that’s possibly on fire depending on the day.
Featuring Jessie’s original music, there’s aching blues, rollicking country, a cheeky bit of swing, lush ballads, and some general nonsense (our favourite).
The band features Jessie’s long-time dream team rhythm section, Karl Florisson on double bass, Michael Perkins on drums, and the incredibly fast-fingered Jon Knox-Matthews on electric guitar.
In the front line, Jessie is joined by Grammy award-winning pedal steel player Lucky Oceans and virtuoso violinist Emily Gelineau.
Approximate Folk is incomplete without the incomparable Mark Turner.
