Opera Queensland: La bohème
13 September @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm AEST

Giving Opera Australia a run for its money is this co-production between Opera Queensland and West Australian Opera. In a handsome staging, first seen in 2023, director Matt Reuben James Ward sets the opera in 1920s Paris. “Yes, this is possibly the most popular opera ever written, and you’ve probably seen countless productions. But not this one,” wrote Will Yeoman in a four-and-a-half-star review of the Perth premiere for Limelight. A strong cast includes Elena Perroni as Mimì and Valerio Borgioni as Rodolfo, with Nina Korbe and Samuel Dundas as Musetta and Marcello. Umberto Clerici conducts the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
