26 April @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm AEST

Experience the brilliance of early cinema with Blackmail (1929), one of Alfred Hitchcock’s most important early films. Starring Anny Ondra and John Longden, this gripping thriller follows a young woman whose life unravels after a moment of self-defence leads to dangerous blackmail.
Blackmail was released in two formats – both as a silent film and also Britain’s first major sound film!
For this silent screening, organist David Bailey will perform a newly composed live score on the TOSAQ Christie Cinema Pipe Organ in view of the audience. David has composed and performed scores for films from all over the world and every genre including many for the Australian Cinematheque at QAGOMA and Brisbane City Hall in addition to venues all around Australia.
