A street. Action! The scene begins: a truck rumbles by, music blaring. A dancer sprints, leaps, stumbles – and suddenly, rain and fireworks erupt around them. Each take brings a new protagonist, a new rhythm, a new spark of cinematic magic. What’s real? What’s staged? In this heady blur of movement and music, the answer is always changing.

Created by Argentinian filmmaker Alejo Moguillansky from the trailblazing Argentinian independent cinema collective El Pampero Cine and choreographer Luciana Acuña of the acclaimed company Grupo Krapp, Efectos Especiales turns the streets of Walsh Bay into an action movie set where extraordinary and unpredictable events unfold in real time. Spectators are swept into the action, becoming both extras and eyewitnesses to the fleeting beauty of art made on the run.
