Noosa Chorale: Mendelssohn’s Elijah
24 May @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm AEST
Mendelssohn’s oratorio Elijah has been much loved ever since its first performance in 1846.
A full orchestra, four soloists and the Noosa Chorale are conducted by Kim Kirkman, a maestro who brings out the best in all performers.
The dramatic rhythms, stirring four-part choruses, and beautiful solos make for a masterpiece that is as thrilling to sing as it is to listen to.The themes of the dangers arising from belief in false Gods are as relevant now as they were in Old Testament times.
