Queensland Ballet: Messa da Requiem
28 March @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm AEST

Where music, movement, and mortality collide.
Renowned choreographer, Christian Spuck, transforms Verdi’s masterpiece into a sculpture of living art and music in Ivan Gil-Ortega’s inaugural season as artistic director. Premiering as the first production in QPAC’s new Glasshouse Theatre – and marking its Queensland debut – Messa da Requiem explores the inner depths of human emotion, blurring the lines between life, loss and the mystery beyond.
From the powerful swell of more than 110 Queensland Symphony Orchestra musicians and Brisbane Chorale singers, to 36 Queensland Ballet artists embodying the music in movement, this unforgettable staging is both epic and intimate – transcending boundaries and merging artforms in this once‑in‑a‑generation production.
