West Australian Ballet: Metamorphosis – Ballet at the Quarry
7 March @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm AWST
Under a starry sky and surrounded by the warm glow of a sheer limestone rock face, West Australian Ballet presents two Australian premieres in its 31st year at the Quarry Theatre. Set to Philip Glass’s Metamorphosis suite for piano and created over Zoom, David Dawson’s five-part work is all about finding light in darkness. Filled with hope and humanity, it was described by The Guardian as a “shimmering delight” following its UK premiere. Fellow British choreographer George Williamson presents Wonderers, winner of Milwaukee Ballet’s Genesis International Choreography Competition, alongside a new commission for WAB.
