Experience the world premiere of Paul Dean’s Symphony No. 2, Youth, dedicated to the Queensland Youth Symphony (QYS), conductor Simon Hewett, and QYO Founder John Curro. Reflecting on the composer’s joyful memories in QYO, it promises an exhilarating journey. Following this, pay homage to Carl Vine with his emotionally resonant Symphony No. 3. Delve into the surreal and evocative sounds of Missy Mazzoli’s Dark With Excessive Bright, featuring QYS Principal Double Bassist Alyssa Deacon. Finally, explore the diverse sonic palette of Keiko Abe’s Prism Rhapsody, skillfully performed by QYS percussionist Jennifer Lin. Don’t miss this captivating program:
