Melbourne Theatre Company: Much Ado About Nothing

14 November @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm AEDT

Talk about a battle of the sexes! Beatrice and Benedick are Shakespeare’s most modern couple. They love to hate each other, yet everyone knows they’re perfect for one another. For the first time in 30 years, MTC presents a brand-new production of The Bard’s razor-sharp comedy, directed by Associate Artist Mark Wilson. Shakespeare’s delicious war of words will be brought to life by Alison Bell as Beatrice and Fayssal Bazzi, in his MTC debut as Benedick.

Limelight Editor’s Choice

Beatrice and Benedick are the most modern of Shakespeare’s couples. They have history. They love to hate each other, yet everyone around them knows they’re perfect for each other. Can love really conquer all?

This brutally funny battle of the sexes is brought ferociously to life by Helpmann Award-winner Alison Bell  and AACTA Award-winner Fayssal Bazzi in his Melbourne Theatre Company debut.

Beatrice and Benedick will fight for their lives against their happily ever after in a play packed full of drama, intrigue and romance. Brimming with wild reversals and hilarious collisions, this outrageously popular romantic comedy has captivated audiences for centuries.

Now, for the first time in 30 years, the Company presents a brand new production of Shakespeare’s joyous war of words and razor-sharp banter, under the direction of Associate Artist Mark Wilson.
