Tempo Rubato: New Bottles, Old Wine
5 September @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm AEST

Taking its cue from Gil Evans’ innovative 1958 jazz album (New Bottle Old Wine), this program showcases a colourful bouquet (infused with notes of jazz and rock-and-roll!) of reimagined favourites, modern ’standards’, and new works for the classic combination of oboe and strings.
Briana Leaman (PhD) enjoys a vibrant and multifaceted career as a freelance orchestral oboist, educator, AMEB examiner, soloist, and chamber musician. She is delighted to share the stage with four exceptional musical colleagues and friends for this project: Sulki Yu (concertmaster, Orchestra Victoria), Cameron Jamieson (multi-skilled modern and period violinist and composer), Ceridwen Davies (freelance violist; MSO, ACO, SSO), and Yelian He (‘the Kung Fu Cellist’).
