Melbourne International Comedy Festival: Nick Abrahams – The Accidental Lawyer
17 April @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm AEST

Years ago, Nick Abrahams was a successful comedian — in Tokyo — starring in his own TV show and hailed as “the Seinfeld of Japan”. He then landed a job at Warner Bros in Hollywood working with George Clooney on ER and Aaron Sorkin on The West Wing. He produced and appeared in a film with Woody Allen and then… he became a lawyer.
When anyone hears this, their first reaction is, “Why so much name-dropping” and then they ask, “What went wrong?” A lot of people escape being a lawyer to do something more interesting. Nick escaped doing something more interesting to spend 16 hours a day arguing over commas. This is a show about how Nick did a career change in reverse — and then tried to escape.
