City of Melville: Nitja
14 February @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm AWST

On Saturday 14 February 2026, the banks of the Derbarl Yerrigan/Swan River at Dyoondalup/Point Walter will light up with song, dance, storytelling, projections and animation for a free and family friendly cultural celebration.
Nitja, translating to ‘here’ in Noongar, invites the community to gather and celebrate a powerful place for ceremony and connection as powerful stories of ceremony, gathering and belonging are shared, revealing the deep cultural significance of Dyoondalup.
Nitja is presented in collaboration with the Perth Festival and lead by a powerful team of First Nations artists including Ian Moopa Wilkes, Chloe Ogilvie and Rickeeta Walley.
Pack a picnic blanket and settle by the sunset to watch as Point Walter becomes a living canvas, with performance and projections reaching across the Derbarl Yerrigan.
