RISING Festival: Nowhere
6 June @ 2:00 pm - 3:35 pm AEST

Actor Khalid Abdalla (from Netflix’s The Crown & The Kite Runner) invites us inside a new kind of “anti-biography”. An audacious and lively show that tells the story of his life, set against the shifting cartographies of seismic world events. From his involvement in the Egyptian revolution, and his experience of the counter-revolution. From the histories of colonialism and decolonisation to personal reflections on friendship and loss, into meditations on Gaza post-October 7.
Khalid Abdalla brings together the personal and the political—through stories, archives, multimedia, song and dance—in an impassioned plea for peace. It’s a show that asks how we got here, and how we find agency inside the mazes of history.
