Alessandro Pittorino: Organ Recital – The Genius of Franz Liszt
9 November 2025 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm AWST

Juilliard-trained organist and Fremantle local Alessandro Pittorino performs a concert celebrating 150 years of pipe organs in Western Australia.
Presented by the Organ Society of Western Australia, The Genius of Franz Liszt will be performed on the magnificent St Patrick’s Basilica organ — the largest church organ in the southern hemisphere.
With more than 6000 pipes, the Basilica organ holds a special place in Alessandro’s heart.
“This organ has been part of my life for as long as I can remember,” Alessandro said. “It’s where I first fell in love with music, and returning to perform the monumental music of Franz Liszt here — on the very instrument I grew up and learned on — feels like coming home. This concert is also a tribute to the enduring beauty and power of these remarkable instruments.”
The concert celebrates the arrival of the first pipe organ in Western Australia in 1875.
