Luminescence Chamber Singers: Red Dirt Hymns
16 November @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm AEDT

A living songbook more than four years in the making, Red Dirt Hymns brings together the words of sixteen contemporary Australian writers, poets, essayists, and folksingers.
Born in a time of fire, darkness, grief and loss, and then fragile, tender hope, these hymns are songs of awe and praise, not to a god but to the land itself.
Performed by the daring voices of Luminescence Chamber Singers with Harley Coleman on electric guitar and boundary-defying cellist Freya Schack-Arnott, the music moves effortlessly between art music, folk song, country ballad and Aussie rock.
Accompanied by evocative imagery from artist Sammy Hawker, Red Dirt Hymns draws us closer to each other and to the light and shade of our wide brown land.
