Southern Cross Soloists: Sacred and Profane
18 October @ 3:00 pm - 4:10 pm AEST

JS Bach’s profound devotion to the sacred meets the delicacy and poise of contemporary circus. An internationally acclaimed circus performer will be announced in February 2026 (a “faultless” (Broadway World) “circus star” (The West Australian)), joining the ensemble for a unique collaboration. Intimate solos by Bach are interlaced with graceful circus motions, transforming both genres.
Around these still moments whirl the irreverent spirits of Poulenc, Stravinsky and Shostakovich, celebrating humanity’s messy splendour. The program ends with Jennifer Higdon’s Zaka, a tour-de-force which “bursts out of the gate, all smiles” (The Philadelphia Inquirer).
