West Australian Symphony Orchestra: Scheherazade
25 May @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm AWST
One of the rising stars of Australian conducting, Jen Winley leads this thrilling concert that weaves together the tales of legendary women.
Be transported by the ethereal melodies of Mel Bonis’ Trois femmes de légende, an evocative tribute to heroines. Then be blown away by the brilliance of Jenna Smith as she performs Hummel’s exhilarating Trumpet Concerto. Based on the Middle-Eastern folk tales The Arabian Nights, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade weaves an intoxicating musical story of love and intrigue with pure sensory allure and breathtaking beauty.
