Peninsula Summer Music Festival: Schubert: Reimagining Schubert (Soprano & Fortepiano)
4 January @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm AEDT
An evening like no other at Port Phillip Estate, including a pre- concert exquisite 3 course dinner followed by a 60 minute recital. Two of Australia’s leading experts in the genre, Neal Peres da Costa and Anna Fraser come together in this gorgeous concert at Port Phillip Estate.
In this recital Neal Peres da Costa (pianoforte) and Anna Fraser (soprano) explore how Franz Schubert’s famous song cycle Schwanengesang might have sounded in the hands of Schubert himself and singers he knew and loved. This interpretation is based on compelling practice-led research including early recordings of 19th century-trained musicians and written information from Schubert’s time, perspective pushing the boundaries of musical artistic practice.
