Orange Chamber Music Festival: Silver Screen Serenades

14 March @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm AEDT

This year’s festival plays every corner of the Central West. Lior and Nomad String Quartet open at the Banksia Pavilion with Compassion and selections from The Blue Parade; Gryphon Baryton Trio performs Haydn in original instrumentation at Boree Cabonne Historic Homestead; tenor Andrew Goodwin and pianist Simon Tedeschi fill Orange Uniting Church with songs from the silver screen; and Ensemble Offspring brings Songbirds to Millthorpe restaurant Tonic, featuring music by First Nations composers Brenda Gifford and Nardi Simpson alongside Gerard Brophy, Robert Davidson, Alice Humphries, Fiona Loader, Ella Macens and Caitlin Yeo.

Limelight Editor’s Choice

Silver Screen Serenades invites audiences on a journey from the romance of Russian song to the lush melodies of Hollywood’s golden age. Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov bring tender lyricism and heartfelt passion, while Paolo Tosti’s beloved Italian songs sparkle with Mediterranean warmth. The evening culminates in unforgettable screen favourites— from Be My Love to So in Love and We’ll Gather Lilacs in the Spring— capturing the glamour, charm, and timeless allure of the silver screen.
