Fiore: Something New: An Australian Commission-Fest

19 November 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm AEDT

Virtual Event Virtual Event

In January earlier this year, composer and friend Alan Holley reached out to us, keen to write something avantgarde and challenging for SATB quartet based on a secular set of ‘carol poems’ from poet Mark Tredinnick.

Thrilled with the opportunity to have music written for our emergent group, we immediately decided to double down and commission several young and wonderfully talented Australian composers and put on a concert of wholly new works. Come to hear some remarkably new sounds of Australian choral repertoire for SATB quartet.

Alan Holley [NSW]
Joshua Adams [WA]
Lily Flynn [VIC]
Lydia Gardiner [WA]
Juliana Kay [VIC]
Daniel Riley [VIC]

This concert will be livestreamed and recorded.

Dynamic, polished, sparkling, and cheeky; Fiore brings the full vibrancy of choral repertoire to audiences Australia wide.

Soprano: Monika Harris
Countertenor: Alex Ritter
Tenor: Anish Nair
Baritone: Lachlan McDonald
