The Parish Church of St James’ King Street: Stephen Hough’s Missa Mirabilis
23 November @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm AEDT

An Australian premiere performance of Missa Mirabilis is a sacred choral work by composer and pianist Sir Stephen Hough, which he named after his near-fatal car accident in 2007. Commissioned by Westminster Cathedral it is characterized by its dramatic power, eclecticism, and complex emotional and musical content, especially in the Credo section which grapples with doubt and faith. The Choir of St James’ will be supported by a group of Sydney’s top orchestral players that promises to be a beautiful performance.
